Another day in Snowville

So, what the heck is this picture of? Why, I did mention I play Final Fantasy XI online, yes? This is my latest baby. I've raised 3 chocobos (what the giant chicken is called) so far and they were all Yellow as butter but this one, OMG, is GREEN as grass. Her name is RoseWild. The cat girl sitting on her back is my character Pixx. I'm such a proud parent. LOL. In the game..this is a huge deal.

Its 19 degrees this morning and more snow on the way tonight. I'm knitting till my hands hurt and doing misc. housework but mostly I've been playing Final Fantasy. What else is there..and at least we have power .... XXX fingers crossed.

Oh I did venture out. I have a 4x4. I just slapped it in low range and went to the Vet. My cat (Mystic, known as Mitzie) is having a problem with her skin. She's allergic to fleas and anything to do with them. Its so cold you wouldn't think this a problem but evidently it is. So off to the vet to get some Frontline and back home.. round trip about 4 miles. Car made horrible noises going into low range but other than that it was ok. Solid sheet of Ice out there. Not one bare street. Bill tells me the freeway isn't bad but I heard that people coming home from the SeaHawks game were stuck on the freeway 8 hours or more.

My brother couldn't get home on Monday so spent the night in my Girly knitting/spinning room. Poor guy..lol.

Its SNOWING, AGAIN!

Picture of one of the trees in the front yard. The one I joke all the time should be cut down and brought into the house for a Christmas tree. Its getting to big now.
I found myself humming Christmas songs while I cooked dinner last night. I'm in trouble, deep!!!

My New Shelves

See what my lovely husband built me!! I've been promising pictures of the new shelves he built for my spinning/ knitting/ guest room. I needed a place "not on the dresser" to keep my pretties and my pictures. All of my Fairies and girly bits were getting broken on the dresser. Much happier in thier own space. The Pictures were scattered all over the house. Its amazing how many pictures I have of Eryka!! Mostly pre-school pictures.
He routered the edges and rounded the corners off. So no putting out an eye. The balusters he turned from dowels on his Lathe and with the jigsaw he made the brackets with the hearts in them ,that I loved so much.
Now I have no excuse for having a mess of stuff on the dresser!

Turkey Day

Jerico and Baby Bryce on the floor. On the couch are Wyatt, Jyll and Trysten. The Table is Marshalls pride and joy.. He worked all summer on it just so he could Host Thanksgiving at his house. Lol.. today you are a man..my son :P
To much food. The table and all the counters were full with stuff. We watched Ice age 2 and the Da Vinci code. Passed out on floors and couches and stayed to long. I think it was a success!
Oh yeah, Bill made THE Turkey in an outdoor roaster/smoker that he built. It was awesome!!

New Projects

I asked my" talented husband" to build some shelves on a blank wall in my spinning/knitting room/guest room. I was thinking country cottage style, rounded corners, frilly brackets all painted white. The room is TOOO blue. I was also thinking that with rounded corners I was less likely to run my face into them...graceful ballerina that I am... pfft!
When I got home from knitting at Village Yarn and Tea he had the shelves all done and some stiles worked on the lathe. But, no brackets..cutsy isn't his thing. He asked me to draw out one and my brain .. tripped and face planted. So, I looked online..hee hee. This is a pic of a bracket I found. I wanted hearts.
As I said, I spent a lovely day at Village yarn and tea. When I got there Ginger was sitting there minding her own business. I plopped my behind down in the chair next to her...waiting for Terri. Next came Rebecca and Sandy to work on the Masters knitting thingie. Terri came and the party really got rolling. I've never seen so many people working on SOCKS in one spot. It must be the cold wet weather. Saw several people I hadn't seen in awhile and one or two new people. I had a wonderful time. The tea wasn't bad either! lol
On Wyatt and Jylls flooding...sigh...they have managed to haul 3 loads to the dump. How sad is that. They hadn't unpacked all the boxes from moving yet so there was still alot in the garage to be ruined. Well at least the Red Cross gave them vouchers that paid for the dumping. Now they have to try to clean up the mud. With horse pastures behind them and septic tanks all around its going to be a tough job. All those nasty germs. Hope they bought a couple bottles of bleach. I don't envy them the job. But, it looks like they have it under control. I have to keep reminding myself they are grown ups and don't need mommy and daddy interfering. Its hard...believe me!

Birthday Presents

Hee hee.. Marshall got me an MP3 player. Like this one but white. I'm gonna have alot of fun with that.
Bill took me to breakfast/lunch and then we went to buy wood to make the new shelves for my yarn room.

Otherwise the day was pretty tense. Wyatt and Jylls new house is only just a little ways of the Stillaguamish river..south fork. The Rescue people came by yesterday morning and told them to get out. The road out was already flooded so the rescue guys opened the gate to the horse pasture thats behind their property to cut across. There is a gate at the end of one of the nearby roads. Guess they stayed with Jylls mom last night. Hope they get to go home. We saw some pictures on the news that looked like the horse pasture behind their house that didn't look good. Fingers crossed.
This is the house to the left of Wyatt and Jylls. Ambers house with their new fence. W&J's house is to your left and behind. She said Ambers house got more water then thiers did.
About 2 ft of water in thier garage...which had alot of boxes, toys and a GUYS area with sofas and TV etc. Which is all trashed now.

When I first looked at this picture I thought it might be the vcr and a cement wall but NO..its the vcr and my old Love seat. Sigh! What a mess. Sigh

Its a Birthday

No biggie, My Birthday is Monday. My friend Lili Pintea-Reed sent me some lovely Llama yarn. I'm plying it with some superfine Merino. Its very soft but its falling apart. I can see this in a lovely lace scarf.
Projects (other then the Llama) is a blanket made up of Grannie Squares from some yarn Liza Della Valentina dyed as a b-day gift a couple years ago. Been waiting for just the right Project. I've also made 2 hats from Noro Silk garden in a Lily Chin pattern. I've made several of these hats and only have 1 hidden away for myself.
Thinking of making the lace socks.. which I've only done the leg on so far..into fingerless gloves. What do you think? I'm still thinking about it.
Just contacted the designer of "Here there be Dragons" Shawl pattern. I've been in love with this for awhile. Its about time I ordered it.

Just finished a book called "The Doomsday Book" by Connie Willis. Deb of Village yarn and Tea insisted I read it. I must say.....I read it in 11 hours. I could NOT put it down. Now I have a headache and need to decompress for a couple days..lol
