Ouchies

Marshall started his new job the 10 th of July.. and they moved to their new place in Bothell-Sunday. About 30 miles commute difference. Monday was intensely hot and bright. Evidently, Marshall didn't see the two trucks in front of him jam on their brakes.. chain reaction accident and blam..his lil Probe made friends with a Ford F-150 (pickup, 4x4).. slid under the bumper and Trailer Hitch. He's ok.. maybe a vertebre out in mid back. Truck didn't have any damage at all!! He just kept repeating Fuck! over and over.. all day. Bet I would have too and cried probably as well.
Bill and I have been disassembling the front end all day. It should be totally fixable but what a pain. Radiator is a total mess.....but the engine seems fine. He drove it the rest of the way to work. It was steaming but it was running. We brought it home on a little trailer with its front wheels off the ground. He drove it onto the trailer. whew!!
But, guess who gets to drive him to and from the new job (only 22 miles round trip)? Moi!! More quality time with my youngest son! Not the ideal way to get more time with him.. fer sure!
Maybe ,I should knit him a chainmail bra for his car when we get it put back together.. with spikes or something ..lol!!
OH and THANK (insert diety here).. that he had his seatbelt ON!

Shane and Kendra

Quick update. Shane and Kendra's wedding was really lovely. I missed it but Marshall was there and I've been promised pictures!! We (Bill and I) instead went to a weekend party with his friends from work. Its a yearly deal! Lots of Food, Drink, Kareoke, and Outdoor movies. Did I say drink? Well, thats the understatement of the century. Husband got sloshed.. I knitted. The weather was warm and the trailer was comfy. I really would have rather gone to the wedding tho...sigh!! I had to reknit alot of what I did do because of some frozen creamsicle margaritas that someone forced on me. I only had one!! Actually I tasted it and gracefully stole it from its owner..lol.

Baa Baa Blacksheep

This is a little of what Terri brought me back from The Blacksheep festival in Oregon a couple weeks ago. I love the surprises she brings me. Look at the picture in a Bigger view... the pink has sparkles in it. She got me 2 lbs!! That and the 3 fleeces I have out for cleaning and carding are going to keep me busy for YEARS!! THANK YOU Terri.....you know me to well!

The one in the bag is pygora (not sure of spelling and to lazy to go look). Its mainly white with little flashes of purple! A nice soft lace.. I think.

I'm about half way threw the Shrug that is red in the pictures I posted but I'm doing it in Ecru Rowan Calmer. I'm totally in love with this yarn!! TOTALLY...softest thing I've ever felt and it knits up so nice.

Bill's latest Beauty

A Picture is worth a thousand words. This is a outdoor table ,my talented husband, built for our son Wyatt (Daddy to the new baby). He turned the leg on his new lathe. All the rest is built of Deck lumber and Oiled with Linseed oil. He says he used every tool he owns. I think its stunning!!

Knitting content..at last!!

Except for the Zipper I have finished the Blue baby bunting. I'm still debating on the hood vs a hat. Yesterday at our usual Saturday Knit in, just Roger and I today, I sewed up all the seams. Today, I'll find a zipper and get that sewn in and Jyll can feel free to have baby Bryce anytime!!

Also, in the last couple weeks I made a short sleeved cardigan in a fishnet pattern of this yarn. Its more springy looking then the picture. Raspberry, Lime and Orangsicle. With A raspberry ruffle of Lornas Lace worsted down the front and neck. It turned out pretty Sexy, I think.

For you that are wondering how I'm adjusting to my Diabetes meds: I'm doing ok. Getting some annoying side effects.. stomach ache and metallic taste in my mouth. Other then that, I'm good. I learned to use the stoooooooooopid blood meter, WHICH I HATE!! I swear I will Loose the damn weight so I don't have to do this anymore! AHEM, anyway.. doing ok. Not crying about it anymore.
For 11 years I homeschooled someone. Then I took care of a Dieing friend. I've been very bored for 2 years! I was wishing for something interesting to do with my now boring life.. be careful what you wish for! I was looking for maybe a job offer......not an illness!! God has a wierd sense of humor. Good thing I'm a buddist! LOL.
Next Project is the shrug I posted last month,in white or seafoam. And, the Pink sweater outa homespun pink/white/blue.

Oh, What a night.

A story I had to tell!!
Its 2, freaking, am. andI hear a cat scream downstairs..Crystal. My cat (mystic) JETs outa her Hammock( in our bedroom window), screaming her lungs out. She doesn't hit the floor till she's threw the door!! Shes running downstairs because we have a "cat burglar" again! We occasionally get one of two male cats that come threw my girls cat flap to steal thier food. I'm hot on their tails....There he is by the cat flap, looking scared and pitiful. Beautiful Orange sherbet/white fluffy boy. Crystal, is leaning her body against the flap from the outside. I've seen her do this to Mystic..its a joke between them. Mystic(Mitzie) has him from the floor. Ever see a cat do a cartoon run around the room..on the walls? Well he did!! Broke at least one piece of good pottery .. an art piece.. that I was very proud of.
I tried to open the back door to give him an out but it scares him worse so, he runs Upstairs!! I go to open the front door to give him and out and blam......I hear the cat flap. Didn't see a thing. So, I'm not actually sure he's gone. Mitzie is walking around phleming ..searching but seems calm now. I think that was him out the flap...Probably with Crystal chasing him all the way to Canada.
If it wasn't for the pot, I'd be laughing. As it is....I'm not crying about it. This is the pot the City of Mountlake Terrace considered buying 10 years ago. They bought a statue instead. Oh well.....sigh!
Crystal just came in...her search pattern led her up the stairs and down, then out the flap. I'm pretty sure he's not in here. Just in case I'm staying up for a couple hours. Besides my adrenalin is up! I'm not gonna cry!!

OMG its 6/6/06

Lol. I know some people who refused to go to work today. I think they were afraid they would walk into HELL..lol!! Not that it wasn't Hell everyday of the week!!
I suggest, having a Knit-a-thon. See how much you can get done today. Stay home .. do not go anywhere..lol I'm KNITTING
If you see the devil..high 5 him and run like a scalded cat ........
Joking, I know..I'm just getting into the spirit of the thing.

Marriages all over the Dang place

This is Shane and Kendra..Their wedding will be July 15th. I've known Shane since he was ..mmm.. 13. One of the sweetest guys I've ever known. Longtime best friend of my youngest son, Marshall.
This is their Engagement photo and his Mom hates it..lol. Oh well :P
When I saw it I actually gasped....its so beautiful! So, them!
AND...Kendra Knits!!
----------------------------
I found out that Marie....of the story 2 down and her longtime boyfriend ,Nate, got married! While she was here on leave. Don't know why she didn't tell me personally but I'm happy for them non the less.

Weddings and Babies
OMG.....giggle

Seed Stitch Cardigan

Saw this on the back of a magazine that came in recently. Its from Classic Elite Yarns
Fell in Love Immediately! I've been spinning some pretty handpainted yarn thats Easter or Baby pastels that would work so well! I just happen to have some lime roving my friend Sascha(Aussie epal) sent me years ago that would really look good as the trim. Its just enough!!

I also, fell in love with a shrug and cami set. From Knit n Style Magazine. I hate the color so would probably do it in white or a seafoam green.. which are yarns I have on hand. I have alot of the seafoam green. Now that I think about it.
So many projects so little time. Just so ya know. Almost done with the baby bunting. Jyll is due in July .. if I'm lucky she won't be early (lucky for me not her). I'm sure she'd like to be done NOW!

Remembering the Girl, Who is Now a Woman

This is my Friend Marie. Known her since the day she was born. Somewhere I have pictures of her younger but these are my favorites. You can see how sweet and a bit outrageous she is.

Never wanted Pink or Girly.. even tho she was always very girly..lol. She was really my son, Marshalls friend. The little Naked 2 year old that showed up after a snow storm wanting Marshall to come play. Oh yes, she had her shoes on.. wrong feet.. but when asked if she was cold..she said," no". About the shoes.. "I like them that way!" Its one of my favorite stories about her.

She was always into crafts. Everything I did.. she wanted to do too. She knits and spins very well. For years we hung out and did crafts.. went to movies and lunches. She used to say the real reason she hung around me was that I fed her. Truth is, she usually did most of the cooking. I even went so far as to try to homeschool her for 2 years. She was always smarter then me but we had fun.

She went away last January to do something SO OUTRAGEOUS that it shocked even her most Unshockable friends. She came back a few days ago and Just Look at her NOW!!!

Can you believe this!! She's studying How to BLOW SHIT UP..Ordinance school. I wish her all the luck in the world. Of course I'm worried about her, also!!

Such a rich and complicated Young woman. So many depths that when you think you've figured her out... she changes. Always keeps life interesting.

Way to go Marie!!

Sheepishly Lovely

My husband has a friend at work that owns 2 sheep. One white and one black. I hear that they roam his yard and sleep in the driveway where they nearly get hit..daily.
I know this isn't a good picture. To much sunshine.. imagine that?! The White is lovely with a long staple of about 4-5 in. They are so clean! I'm so excited I don't even know what to write. The black looks like its been picked threw. Its about half as much as the white. The black sheep is rather old and the owner thinks her wool is no good. Or, only good for rugs. Which is fine. I was thinking of making a rug.
As soon as I find a box these are off to Dawns custom carding
WHOOO HOOO

Chucks first Turn

Isn't this beautiful!! Bill used the new Chuck for the first time. This pretty bowl is made from a piece of our old cherry tree. The one we planted when Wyatt was born. It died off slowly after we had to chop out a large root. Big mistake but the wood we kept.
Good job Bill!!

What I think is Sexy!!

Oh Dear Reader....What really turns a woman on? Is it cologne, flowers or a handsome face?
For me? Mmmm.. the smell of sawdust, linseed oil or fresh mown grass or Clay. When I see a man covered in hard earned saw dust with his safety glass all hazed up.. gives me the shivers. I lie to you..NOT!
Its what brought my husband and I together..Bill's ability to build things. Since we first got married we've worked on building projects together. Fixing up an old farm house then our present house. We built a 2 story addition off the side and a kitchen additon. Just the 2 of us. Those were some of the happiest days of my young life.
So is it any wonder that I actually, gave up my Saturday Knitting group to hang out with these 2 sexy men. My husband, Bill and my youngest son, Marshall. They have been working on refinishing an antique table Bill bought before we met.. over 34 years ago. Its always been to large for our kitchen but will just fit perfectly into Marshalls Dining room.

Here you see the legs of this lovely old table. My husband ran them threw his new lathe to fix broken parts and generally smooth them out.
You can see the Lathe in the picture of Marshall.. its the RED metal dealie. Which has been lovingly named, Scarlet. It should make me Jealous.. but today,

Chuck showed up. Chuck being an attachment for Scarlet. Scarlet is now capable of making bowls.. boxes etc. Can you tell I'm getting excited? Chuck is something for Bill to worry about! Most of you may not know that for years.. since 1986.. I've been a ceramic artist and potter. Things that are ROUND..... turn me on..lol. Or, maybe its things that go around? Which includes my Spinning wheel.
Gotta run... I hear the table saw!! I smell wood. Mmmmm giggle

Family Junk

Pregnant Jyll with Eryka, Jayda and Trysten..just thought I'd share. Wyatt (my son) cut Jylls hair.....not bad.

Knitting is still occuring. I finished a shawl for the new baby. Have two sweaters going and like I mentioned below..lots of other stuff.

Been helping my youngest son, Marshall, get his new Apartment fixed up. Bought him some Japanese block print..prints. This is a corner of his new living room......biggest one bedroom apt I've ever been in

Looks nice so far Huh.

And the Knit goes on

As they say, "No rest for the wicked" .. I must be truely wicked! I show up for 30 min at Saturday knit group (I have a thursday one too) and Terri sets one of her new mittens down in front of me and says "can you finish these?" If you've been reading her blog you know her life has been less then Ideal lately. So, of course I say yes! I love the mittens she's making for her book. I actually burst into tears the first time I saw them cuz they were so beautiful. I figure I can post this picture because its the same one she has on her site. It gives a hint to how intricate they are. I'd never done knitting like this before. I've finished one pair for her already and after ripping and frogging and screaming ..and not to little hair tearing..I learned how to strand. I'm hooked. If I can do it .. its not that hard. I can't wait till her book comes out.
Oh, and the reason I only had 30 min to spend with my Saturday Ladies was that I needed to go to an open house for my son Wyatt and his wife Jyll. They had a house warming party for their new house. Friends and family filled the place. I think the party was a huge success. I hear the garage was set up like a boys dream. Beer fridge, Tv, dvd player and all their old couches from the apartment. LOL. I never made it downstairs. My leg was really bothering me and I was lucky to get upstairs in the first place. The house is coming along. I was impressed at all the work they have done.
Oh, and not to leave her out! Cynthia from my Thursday knit group and fellow game player (final fantasy xi) is Pregnant and due in November. I really am gonna have to dust off my Bond knitting frame if I'm gonna get threw baby season! Congrates Cynthia...fingers are crossed that it all goes smoothly. Cynthia is a new knitter. She's mastered hats, scarves and fingerless gloves..I'm going to have to find easy baby patterns. I know I must have a ton in some book.. somewhere. I think I own one of every book ever published on knitting....sigh...yup... to many books not enough time!
My next house is gonna have a library for all my books.

A Few of the Things I'm Working on

A Bunting and a sweater from Oat Couture
And a little cute cable sweater from Plymouth yarns
There are 2 of my own design that are half done and a couple baby blankets made of Homespun or Baby homespun
and I've gotten several patterns into my Estonian garden shawl.
Hopefully, I will be knitting more for Terri
Who is putting together a book of Antique Nordic mittens patterns. She recently had her house broken into and her laptop stolen. All that work...Pfft.. gone!!! But, in the process she learned some new ways of doing things. So, it hasn't been a totally bad thing. I'm loving some of her more recent knitting for this book. There is nothing quit like it... wishing her all luck. Not just because I've done some knitting for it too ..lol.
Oh and for myself I ordered this pattern. I LOVE the back but I think the sleeves have gotta go! I'll think of something else.

Kellden Leonard Coles - March 24,2006

Yup I know, Babies babies babies!! This young Gentleman is the new son of Jami. Jami is Jylls twin sister.
Heres a picture of J&J together. Jami is the one without the hat.
Congratulations Jami!!
And yes, Jyll is the other one that is pregnant. Not to be out done by her sister.
Its confusing I know. Jami had a boy and Jyll(my daughter in law) is expecting a boy late this summer.
Whats even funnier is that Jami's oldest daughter ,Nikki, calls me "Grandma Aunt" ... which I love.
The amount of baby knitting I have planned is beyond HUGE..I'm so behind that I'm finishing things that I started for one or two babies back!!
No offense ladies.. but you can both stop now!! Please

Can You Believe IT!!!

Wyatt and Jyll are in their new house. She had The Ultrasound today!! I'm gonna be a grannie to another wild and crazy BOY!
Gonna have to get my knitting needles clicking and digging threw the patterns. I've been waiting for this news so I'd know what to make.
Please send links to cool patterns.

Mystery Tour

I've been working on Nordic Mittens designed by Teri Shea
Its hush hush..lol. See her site to look at what we're doing.
Its been a challenge because the only fairisle I've done was on the knitting machine. But, I'm in love!

Almost finished with Judys Shawl II..in Gold Lyon brand homespun. Its knee length so has taken awhile.
Started working on the Estonian lace shawl(picture below, somewhere)....finally... got the cast on and 3 rows done!! I'm on my way.
Today with luck...Jyll and Wyatt move into thier new house. I'm not sure which house is theirs but closing is SUPPOSED to be today. We shall see!!
